Fishing at Lake Vista and Hutter Lake

RULES AND REGULATIONS

1. Fishing at Lake Vista and Hutter Lakes is limited to residents and their accompanied guests. The resident must be present at all times when their guest(s) is(are) fishing. 

2. Releasing any fish caught back to our lakes is always appreciated. It should be done with care so the fish suffer minimal injury. 

3. Both lakes contain blue catfish, large mouth bass, bluegills, sunfish or bream, and crappie. A maximum of eight (8) fish per day can be taken for personal use (cooking) provided the following size restrictions are met for each fish: 

4. Bass - 10 inches minimum Bluegills, crappie, sunfish or bream - 7 inches minimum Catfish - Any size Fishing for carp is prohibited. They are purchased by LVPOA and added to the lake for weed control. If a carp is accidentally caught, it must be released back into the lake. If it has swallowed the hook, the line or leader should be cut at the mouth of the fish before it is released. 

5. The use of worms, shrimp, bugs, and artificial lures is permitted. The use of any type of minnows as bait is prohibited. 

6. Gigging, spearing, netting, and the use of trotlines are prohibited. 

7. Putting gold fish into either lake is prohibited. 

8. Taking of fish from the lakes for any commercial purpose is prohibited. 

9. All residents and their guests, when fishing on the lakes, must remove all worm boxes, food wrappers, drink cans, bottles and other debris that they brought with them when they departing the lake. 

10. Residents are responsible for informing their guests of, and their guests compliance with, the LVPOA Fishing Regulations. Owners who rent their property in Lake Vista are responsible for informing their renters about the LVPOA Fishing Regulations.
