Fishing at Lake Vista and Hutter Lake is RESTRICTED to residents only. Guests must be with a resident at all times to avoid being at risk of trespassing. 

REQUIRED DOCUMENTATION

1. Fishing License: Residents ages 16 and above need a current fishing license to use Lake Vista and Hutter Lake for recreational fishing. Instructions from Virginia Department of Wildlife Resources are linked. 
2. Residency Verification: A standard license with physical address showing Lake Vista residency is required in addition to the fishing license. Those who cannot prove residency in the Lake Vista Community can be asked to leave by law enforcement, board members or residents. The Alta Open ID that is used for pool access can verify residency if traditional license/identification is not on hand.
